According to reports, World Network is discussing the launch of a Visa and new stablecoin wallet. This will integrate cryptocurrency-specific features into Visa's vast customer base.
Since this news first broke, Worldcoin's price has risen by 13%. However, there are no definitive signs of an actual deal being finalized.
Visa Partnership with Worldcoin?
World Network (formerly Worldcoin), a blockchain-based biometric system, may soon establish a partnership with Visa.
Recent reports indicate that Tools for Humanity, Worldcoin's parent company, initiated these discussions. They aim to collaborate with Visa to create a new stablecoin wallet integrated with their vast customer base:
"OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is reportedly collaborating with Visa to develop a cryptocurrency stablecoin wallet connected to the Worldcoin ecosystem. This wallet will integrate on-chain card functionality and allow stablecoin payments through Visa's global network. According to sources, the goal is to transform World Wallet into a 'mini bank account' with foreign exchange, fiat on-ramps, and other features." – Mario Nawfal stated on X.
Over the past few months, Worldcoin's value has dramatically declined. It briefly rebounded at the end of 2024, but investor sell-offs and regulatory issues have continuously disappointed fans.
However, since the discussions between Visa and World Network were first disclosed, Worldcoin has seen a 13% rally.

Visa has previously collaborated with several cryptocurrency companies. They entered the RWA market in 2024 and partnered with Coinbase to allow instant fund transfers through Visa debit cards.
However, the company explored stablecoin market trends last year and obtained disappointing results. Stablecoins could potentially threaten Visa's core business model.
In other words, while World Network wants to place stablecoins at the center of future transactions with Visa, this could become an obstacle. Currently, discussions are in the early stages, and there are no indications that a deal will be finalized. Nevertheless, active discussions are ongoing, which has helped recover Worldcoin's value.
It's important to remember that stablecoins could become a larger component of global finance. In a recent speech, Donald Trump argued that stablecoins will play a crucial role in promoting dollar dominance globally.
This could incentivize Visa to partner with World Network, but it's too early to tell.
