After the major IPO launch, Circle is now a listed company trading under the CRCL ticker. The initial stock price is $31 per share.
This is the first case of a major stablecoin company being listed in the United States. The company's USDC is currently the 7th largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of $61.4 billion.
Stablecoin, Entering Wall Street
Circle's IPO launch efforts have attracted high interest in the cryptocurrency industry. Yesterday, the company significantly raised its target by increasing the per-share price and issuing an additional 8 million shares.
Today, Circle's listing was made on the NYSE, becoming a listed company, signaling the beginning of a new era and the conclusion of the IPO.
I am incredibly proud and thrilled to share that @circle is now a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under $CRCL!
12 years ago we set out to build a company that could help remake the global economic system by re-imagining and re-building it from the ground up… pic.twitter.com/okcH0ys6Tc
— Jeremy Allaire – jda.eth / jdallaire.sol (@jerallaire) June 5, 2025
Allaire expressed gratitude and mentioned several ways the listing could transform Circle.
He claimed the company was founded on the premise of digitally reconstructing the global economic system, and he had always anticipated this project would take decades. The listing 12 years later indicates that this mission is making substantial progress.
While Circle is not the largest stablecoin issuer, it has made impressive advances in recent weeks. Trading volume has reached an all-time high, and cross-chain bridging transactions have also set new records this week.
Circle aimed to raise over $1 billion through its IPO, and today's listing indicates that it quickly achieved this goal.
However, becoming a listed company will not immediately change Circle's day-to-day operations. Allaire did not mention any leadership changes or bold new plans.
He said he would continue to transform the global economic system, emphasizing that this is a long-term vision.
