ToggleIn a world where accurate data plays a crucial role for DeFi projects, decentralized oracle systems are becoming increasingly important. One of the prominent projects in this field is Tellor – a permissionless oracle capable of bringing real-world data into the blockchain securely, transparently, and censorship-resistant. What makes this project special? Let's explore the project with Allinstation through the article below!
What is Tellor (TRB)?
Tellor is an Oracle network that allows anyone to request, provide, and verify data on the blockchain. The project was developed to serve DeFi applications and smart contracts on Ethereum and expand into a multi-chain ecosystem through Tellor Layer – a new independent blockchain based on Cosmos SDK.
Tellor does not rely on a fixed oracle group but is open to all "reporters" competing to submit correct data, creating a truly fair, transparent, and decentralized system.
[The rest of the translation follows the same approach, maintaining the structure and translating all text while preserving any HTML tags]- Staking: TRB token holders can stake in the system to act as a miner and participate in data verification on the network.
- Tip: As mentioned above, to prioritize their data retrieval request, users will need to use TRB to tip miners.
- Burn: A small detail is that the tip amount will be split into two 5/5 parts. Half will be rewarded to the miner, and the remaining half will be burned to reduce supply and ensure long-term value for TRB.
- Dispute: If data provided by data providers has issues, users can use TRB coin to dispute. If successfully disputed, miners will not receive their coin rewards. Conversely, if the network accepts the data's accuracy, miners will receive the coins that the disputing party put into the contract.
- Governance: In addition to disputing to ensure data accuracy, TRB coin holders can also participate in voting to pass network upgrade decisions.
Roadmap

- Optimizing consensus mechanism between validators to improve synchronization speed
- Introducing oracle timestamping: data accurately marked with block height & clock time
Q3/2025 – Expanding dApps and DeFi Integration
- Collaborating to integrate Tellor oracle with dApps in areas: Lending/Borrowing, Perpetuals & Prediction Markets, AI Data Oracle for Web3 AI applications
- Developing custom data formats to help applications retrieve advanced information like financial indices, derivative data, on-chain prices
Q4/2025 – On-Chain Governance
- Deploying a new on-chain voting mechanism for TRB holders, with a voting system based on staking time
- Launching Bug Bounty & Community Contributor Reward program, encouraging users to contribute code, documentation, and data critique
- Organizing technical workshops and hackathons focused on oracle, AI data, and DeFi
Project Team, Investors, and Partners
Project Team
Tellor was founded by a group of experts with extensive experience in blockchain, finance, and decentralized data. Focusing on transparency and decentralization, the team not only builds the protocol but also maintains and develops the community participating in data verification.
- Brenda Loya – CEO & Co-Founder
Former econometrician at the US Department of Labor. Brenda leads the technical development and strategy for Tellor, focusing on designing transparent and permissionless data mechanisms.
- Nicholas Fett – CTO & Co-Founder
Economist and software engineer who designed Tellor's first smart contracts. Previously working in traditional finance, he is now responsible for designing the multi-chain oracle infrastructure.
- Michael Zemrose – CSO & Co-Founder
Responsible for growth strategy, partner connections, and community coordination. Michael is a key factor in bringing Tellor to market and expanding international operations.
Investors
Tellor has received support from many reputable venture capital funds, especially Binance Labs (now Yzi Labs) and Framework Ventures
Partners
- Tellor is currently providing oracle data for many protocols in the DeFi ecosystem and various Layer 1/Layer 2 blockchains
- Tellor has also participated in many hackathons and technology collaboration programs with third parties to expand its data network, especially in DeFi, prediction markets, and AI applications.
Summary
Tellor's difference comes from its open operating model, transparent data competition mechanism, effective verification community, and experienced development team. Although not as "noisy" as big names like Chainlink, Tellor maintains a steady development pace, has practical applications, and is integrated by many top DeFi projects.
