After reading this report on AI Layer1, you will find that the current DeAI track is in an early exploratory stage of "clear division of labor but insufficient collaboration".
Each project has its own entry point—— Sentient focuses on model loyalty, Sahara AI concentrates on data rights confirmation, Ritual optimizes computing power allocation, Gensyn solves AI training challenges, Bittensor builds an incentive network, 0G focuses on storage infrastructure.
This development mode of working independently, while promoting technological innovation diversity, also exposes a core issue: decentralized AI has not yet found a true combination standard.
Just like early DeFi protocols developed independently until liquidity mining and composability matured and triggered ecosystem explosion, AI Layer1 is also waiting for such a Lego collaborative Moment to drive the main upward wave.
DeFi's composability is relatively simple—— revolving around capital flow, with relatively uniform standards. However, AI involves four dimensions: data, models, computing power, and storage, with different technical standards, verification mechanisms, and incentive models for each dimension, making unified composability more difficult.
I believe the collaborative explosion moment for AI Layer1 might come from two directions: either a project becomes strong and establishes de facto standards (such as Bittensor's subnet mode already showing this trend), or a specialized "inter-protocol protocol" emerges to specifically solve interoperability issues between different AI Layer1s.
