At the end of yesterday's article, there was a comment:
"You keep publishing articles about this project during the bull market, which reminds me of the consecutive FIL articles that soon started to plummet."
At this point in the market cycle, I have never believed that the crypto ecosystem has reached a "bull market". The reason is simple, which I have shared many times: Ethereum has not even broken its previous high, so where is this "bull market"?
As for the Virtual project and its ecosystem, I apply the same standard, which is still far from its previous high and cannot be considered a bull market.
Regarding continuously publishing articles about this project, in fact, I am more accurately sharing articles about some projects in this ecosystem and the perspectives and thoughts of the Virtual team leading this ecosystem.
These articles only discuss their ideas, viewpoints, practices, and effects, never talking about their price and trends "shortly after".
Why publish these articles?
I have clearly shared in previous articles:
First, in the current crypto ecosystem, the old niche areas have caused me aesthetic fatigue, and they have not shown any impressive innovations so far.
What innovative breakthroughs are there in DeFi?
What innovative breakthroughs are there in Non-Fungible Token?
What innovative breakthroughs are there in chain games?
It seems there are none.
Perhaps HyperLiquid, which has risen in the DeFi ecosystem, is attractive to many people, but it does not interest me.
Second, the newly emerging hot ecosystems seem to have little to do with retail investors like me.
The most typical example is RWA. I have shared the reasons many times and will not repeat them.
Third, and most importantly, in human society today, especially after the emergence of artificial intelligence, I believe the only thing that can compare is the crypto ecosystem.
So AI + Crypto is the track I am highly focused on.
Personal time and energy are limited, and since I am optimistic about this track, I must invest most of my energy into it.
In the AI + Crypto track, which ecosystems are worth paying attention to?
Looking across the entire crypto ecosystem, I only find Solana and BASE worth watching. However, the AI + Crypto ecosystem in the Solana ecosystem is far from developed compared to BASE.
So my energy is focused on BASE.
In the BASE ecosystem, the well-developed AI + Crypto is only the Virtual project and its supporting ecosystem.
So my energy is only on this project and its ecosystem.
This is my logic, and I don't think it's difficult to understand.
As for whether a project will rise or fall "shortly after" focusing on it and writing articles, this has never been a factor I consider.
If focusing on a project means expecting it to rise shortly after, then that starting point is problematic. Because in my view, short-term market fluctuations have never been a factor in determining whether to focus on and participate in a project.
When I first paid attention to and bought Bitcoin and Ethereum, they soon encountered a bear market and significant drops. Does this mean paying attention to them was wrong?
So what is the purpose and reason for focusing on a project?
I focus on a project:
First, from a long-term perspective, to see if the project has opportunities for long-term development;
Second, to hope to discover other opportunities it might generate, to see if its proposed concept is creative and might indicate a new business model.
Specifically for the Virtual project, I want to see if it can become a long-term project, whether its concepts and ideas can truly drive the AI + Crypto track I'm concerned about, and create truly valuable AI Agents in the process.
Finally, this reader mentioned a past lesson: shortly after focusing on FIL, it plummeted.
We have suffered losses in this regard.
But the same thing has also happened with Bitcoin and Ethereum I mentioned earlier, and also with DeFi and Non-Fungible Token. However, we have gained substantial returns from them.
Such events are not just in the past, but will continue now and in the future; not only in the crypto ecosystem but also in other technological fields.
Facing these possible outcomes in the past, present, and future, how should we confront this uncertainty and risk?
Should we become timid, bitten once by a snake and afraid of a rope for ten years, rejecting all new things?
Or should we learn from experience and lessons, turn experience into a sword to forge ahead, turn lessons into a solid shield for self-protection, so that even facing waves of challenges, we can be fearless and move forward boldly?
I would unhesitatingly choose the latter.
The specific methods I have shared many times:
Always have 18 months of living expenses saved;
Participate with idle money that does not affect life;
Bitcoin + Ethereum should occupy at least 50% of the total position;
As for the Virtual ecosystem, it's even simpler, which I have also shared many times:
If you don't understand, buy nothing, observe more and act less;
If all the above preparations are made, then go ahead and boldly pursue your ideas. I believe this is the attitude a pioneering investor should have, and also my requirement for myself.
