On June 16, 2025, Binance announced that it will adjust the Alpha point calculation rules to ensure fairness, market stability, and limit system risks due to excessive liquidity concentration.
According to the official announcement from the exchange, starting from 13:00 on 17/06/2025 Vietnam time, trading volume between Alpha token pairs will no longer be counted towards Alpha Points. This means that if users trade between two tokens in the same Alpha group, those trades will not be recognized in the Alpha program reward point calculation.
Binance emphasized that this rule update is a necessary step to reduce point manipulation through internal trading within the Alpha token ecosystem, and to encourage users to diversify their trading strategies, avoiding excessive focus on closely related trading pairs.
This information was confirmed by the Binance China channel. Previously, Binance had monitored and noted unusual price fluctuations of two Alpha tokens, ZKJ and KOGE. Preliminary investigation results showed that the main cause was a "whale" who withdrew liquidity and executed a series of liquidation orders across multiple exchanges and chains, leading to significant volatility and market instability.
