Maple Finance Announces Proposal MIP-018: Increasing Protocol Fee Revenue Ratio for SYRUP Token Buyback from Q3 2025
On July 25, 2025, the decentralized financial platform Maple Finance officially launched proposal MIP-018 with the aim of adjusting the protocol fee allocation mechanism. According to the proposal, Maple Finance intends to increase the protocol fee ratio used for SYRUP token buyback from the current 20% to 25%, starting from the third quarter of 2025.
The number of SYRUP tokens bought back will be used as rewards distributed to those staking SYRUP (stSYRUP). This is seen as a strategic move to enhance the long-term value of the SYRUP token and encourage the community to continue holding and staking this token.
Notably, only those holding stSYRUP are eligible to vote on the MIP-018 proposal. This reflects the decentralized governance model that Maple Finance is pursuing, empowering the community directly involved and contributing to the ecosystem.
Maple Finance (now also known as Maple, token SYRUP) is a blockchain-based institutional partner lending platform, aimed at connecting financial institutions and businesses with investors seeking to optimize returns in the DeFi environment.
