Elon Musk has become the most influential figure in the cryptoasset field, surpassing US President Donald Trump. The list of top influencers in the cryptoasset field also includes current and former legislators. Notably, only one non-American politician and one woman are on this list.
The analysis was conducted by ApeX Protocol using data-based indicators to identify and rank the most influential public figures in the current cryptoasset field.
The Most Influential Voices in Today's Crypto Space
Earlier this month, the ApeX Protocol trading platform published a detailed analysis identifying the most influential voices in the cryptoasset field. Their method combines estimating the amount of cryptoassets held, net asset value, and social media influence.
"This ranking truly shows that influence in the cryptoasset field is not just about who has the largest wallet. It's about who is being listened to... That combination is what makes the cryptoasset space unique right now. It's not just technology or finance, but politics, media, and culture wrapped into one," an ApeX spokesperson said.

The final score was determined by the total number of followers on X and Instagram, reflecting each figure's ability to shape public opinion and draw attention to the cryptoasset space.
1. Elon Musk
Tesla's CEO and Dogecoin enthusiast has surpassed President Trump to become the most influential political figure in the cryptoasset field. With a massive 221.2 million social media followers, where he frequently shares his views on cryptoassets, and an estimated 2 billion USD in cryptoassets, including company investments, Musk has risen to the top on all criteria.
2. Donald Trump
The current US President ranks second. He has 142.7 million followers on X and owns the third-largest cryptoasset investment portfolio, exceeding 1.3 million USD. A report published by the Democracy Defenders Fund earlier this year showed that the President's cryptoassets account for 37% of his total assets.
3. Nayib Bukele
El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele is the only non-American politician in the top 10. He holds an estimated 8.4 million USD in cryptoassets and, although he initially legalized Bitcoin, later reversed this decision under pressure from the International Monetary Fund. He regularly interacts with 17.6 million social media followers about cryptoassets.
4. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The current Secretary of Health and Human Services owns a cryptoasset portfolio worth 750,000 USD. He has widely followed social media accounts with a total of nearly 11 million followers.
Kennedy frequently calls Bitcoin the "currency of freedom." He believes it provides an inflation hedge for middle-class Americans and could be a solution against the devaluation of the USD, which he is concerned about.
5. Ted Cruz
The current Texas Senator and former Attorney General of the state owns around 32,500 USD in cryptoassets. He maintains a significant social media presence with 9.1 million followers on X and Instagram.
Cruz strongly supports Texas becoming a Bitcoin and cryptoasset mining center for jobs, innovation, and development. He supports Bitcoin and other cryptoassets as crucial protections against government control and for financial freedom, emphasizing decentralization against excessive intervention, unlike the Central Bank's Digital Currency.
6. JD Vance
Following Senator Cruz closely, Vice President JD Vance has emerged as an important influencer in the cryptoasset field, ranking sixth. His influence is drawn from his role in public office and significant social media presence with 6.2 million followers. His estimated cryptoasset assets are 375,000 USD, placing him ahead of most politicians.
Vance believes the US should strategically accept Bitcoin, especially as China bans cryptoasset transactions and mining. He argues that Beijing's opposition to Bitcoin should motivate the US to accept it.
The Vice President has also praised the US government's establishment of a strategic Bitcoin reserve and continuously encourages the cryptoasset community to maintain political activity.
7. Madison Cawthorn
Madison Cawthorn, the former Republican Representative for North Carolina, 29 years old, is holding 116,500 USD in digital assets.
As the youngest public figure on this list, he maintains a significant social media presence with over 1.18 million followers. Self-identifying as a constitutional conservative, he demonstrates the cryptoassets' appeal to a new generation of political voices.
Cawthorn frequently supports cryptoassets. Previously, he promoted the "Let's Go Brandon" (LGB) coin, expressing an optimistic view like "This coin will go to the moon." However, his cryptoasset transactions have caused controversy.
In December 2022, the House Ethics Committee determined that he improperly promoted a Token that he had undisclosed investments in and received an "inappropriate gift" through preferential terms.
He also failed to submit transaction reports in a timely manner. Insider trading allegations were investigated, although the Committee did not conclude that he profited from non-public information.
8. Cynthia Lummis
Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis is a top Cryptoasset supporter in Congress, often called the "Crypto Queen," and is the only woman in this top 10 list.
She holds approximately $230,000 in Cryptoasset reserves and has over 390,000 Watchers on social media. Currently, Lummis is the chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets.
In March 2025, she reintroduced the BITCOIN Act to establish the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Lummis also co-sponsored the GENIUS Act, which President Trump recently signed into law.
She supports the CLARITY Act, a bill that, if passed, would establish a regulated market structure for digital assets.
9. Francis Suarez
Miami Mayor and prominent lawyer Francis Suarez ranks second from the bottom with $10,000 in cryptocurrencies and over 200,000 Watchers on social media.
Despite being low on the net worth scale, the Republican mayor has attracted significant national attention due to his strong support and ambitious crypto-related initiatives.
Suarez has actively pursued a vision of making Miami the "Bitcoin capital of the world" to promote economic growth and attract tech talent. His initiatives include receiving salary in Bitcoin and allowing tax payments in cryptocurrency.
He also played a crucial role in launching MiamiCoin and actively attracting crypto businesses. Despite market volatility, he views Bitcoin as the "currency of freedom" and an important tool for economic diversification.
10. Pat Toomey
American entrepreneur and former Pennsylvania Representative Pat Toomey ranks at the bottom of the top 10 with nearly $8,000 in cryptocurrency and almost 187,000 Watchers on social media.
As a former Ranking Member of the Senate Banking Committee, Toomey supported the need for a clear regulatory framework distinguishing cryptocurrency commodities from securities.
Toomey was a key figure in stablecoin legislation, introducing the 2022 Stablecoin TRUST Act to ensure proper support and transparency.
Honorary Mentions: Michael Collins and Michael McCaul
Michael Collins, a US Representative from Georgia, holds around $8,000 in cryptocurrency. Despite only having 130,000 Watchers on social media, his significant net worth of $18.75 million keeps him influential in the broader cryptocurrency conversation, placing him just outside the top 10.
Michael McCaul, a US Representative from Texas and current Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, concludes the list of politically influential figures in the cryptocurrency field.
He owns the third-highest net worth in the ranking with approximately $200 million. McCaul's cryptocurrency holdings are reported to be related to Michael Collins.
